A person, a group, an organization in the United States operating and existing above the law. Imagine a person, a group, an organization writing, interpreting, overriding, and voicing their take on what the law means. Imagine a person, a group, an organization with no rules, no higher authority to appeal to or to even seek reprieve. The Supreme Court of the United States is constitutionally a co-equal branch of government. But are they? The President is voted in, subject to the oversight of Congress and The Supreme Court rulings. Congress must have at minimal a majority in both Chambers and the signature of The President. The Supreme Court is not elected, does not answer to the citizenry or have oversight by The Executive or Legislative branches.
It only takes 5 Justices to decide in one direction.
The Supreme Court is self governing for life! The Executive and Legislative branches have ethic rules.
The Supreme Court operates mostly as original. Lack of full, public and/or visible access of its operations and procedures.
If 5 Justices DO NOT want to hear oral arguments, they can do emergency orders and summary decisions with no signatures, explanation and/or sunlight.
There were days when you did not know 100% before the case was heard which way a Justice was going to vote.
Historian Lord Actons made this statement in 1887 and it is still true today. The Supreme Court needs reforming that includes term limits. The President and Congress needs to reform the Supreme Court for the Supreme Court WILL NOT!
1 Justice for each Circuit! With the direct and impactful legal matters that are coming before the Court, more diversity, exposures and experiences are needed to represent the diverse citizenry of The United States in the 21st century!
It is time to REFORM SCOTUS!
